The Association for Safe International Road Travei (ASIRT) promotes global road safety. Well over a million people die every year in road crashes. Half those deaths are the vulnerable road users -- pedestrians, bicyclists, and motor scooters. For healthy Americans traveling abroad, road crashes are the leading cause of death.
